One Main Reason to Attend the NY Xpo for Business 2009
| This year there will be over 36 educational seminars and over 400 exhibits. Agent-cy’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jasmine Sandler, will be presenting “Social Media as an element of Online PR – the NEW Hot Topic for 2010.”
Everyone who owns or has access to a computer around the world most likely knows about or has used social media as a way of either connecting to another person, group or community through such sites as Facebook, Myspace, Linked In and many other social networks. Businesses that have used social media as part of their online marketing plans know the power of community engagement around a brand and the balance it takes to drive home an authentic message. What some business owners and marketing managers are just now realizing is that Social Media is just one element of a more powerful way of connecting consumers to brand in an authentic, organic manner through Online PR. Online PR is the process of developing positive brand awareness around a company product or service online. The presentation she will deliver, (an interactive agency with a strong focus in both Social Media Marketing and Online PR), guides the marketer through how this process works. By providing definitions and client examples, Jasmine hopes that both small and mid-sized firms will learn how to take advantage of social media and Online PR so that they can grow their businesses online. |

What types of education do you suggest to be involved in online PR?
To be involved in Online PR, it would be wise to educate yourself in how PR works and also gain an understanding of what type of viral media works online. There are webinars, tele-seminars and books on these subjects that can be found online through such resources as Media Post and others. It is essential that you have dedicated resources and talent in article writing, concept development and branding to do so as well. Agent-cy is offering a webinar on Online PR through the Direct Marketing Association on August 5th at 1pmEST/10amPST. If interested in receiving an invitation for this webinar, please contact Bob Hughes, Chair of the DMA LA at hughesmarketing@sbcglobal.net.

What can you achieve through online PR and why is it so important?
Online PR is designed to build positive and viral brand awareness. It is a concentrated effort and requires expertise and connections, such that Agent-cy has and how it helps businesses in every category. Online PR is simply the process of developing an ongoing compelling story of content that will inspire and engage your target audience and then creating relationships that are mutually beneficial with sites, blogs and social networks where your specific audience lives.
Agent-cy is doing an Online PR Webinar that will detail the process and several case studies in July. If you are interested in attending, e-mail anne@agent-cy.com immediately with your contact information to get an invite.

Choosing the best key words for search engine optimization.
Choosing the right keywords really comes from an understanding of your target behavior. What this means is that you really need to understand how and why your target searches. Further, you need to understand what kind of messaging makes them buy. Initially reviewing the current search marketplace in google and with tools like wordtracker will help. Secondly, you need to assess the buying behaviors through off and online surveys. You can also set up buying tests for a random group through your ecommerce process or lead generation process. And like all programs daily management is key. If you are having any troubles with keyword development, contact us for a free consultation at 2125324870 or via info@agent-cy.com.

I see a ton of potential with online marketing, but at this point I’m overwhelmed. What do I do? Where do I start?
I get asked this question by almost every new business owner. The answer is always the same and it works. I always tell them that you need to start by validating your online opportunity. This means research and analysis related to your target, your competitors and your industry and how it uses the web for marketing. You should always get feedback from your intended target on your domain name, brand identity, messaging and web prescence all along the way in online marketing and especially in the beginning. Further, it is important that you test along the way and don’t make huge commitments upfront. But test with a goal, timeline and resources in mind.Where you start will be determined once you do the right research and analysis. For a free consultation, call us at 212-532-4780.
